Terra manufactures 750,000 tonnes of Anhydrous Ammonia in the UK, according to systems registered to ISO 9002. Anhydrous Ammonia is supplied to the Industrial Chemical Market in both Standard and Premium Grade form. Product delivery of Standard and Premium Grades is via bulk tanker, or alternatively, Standard Grade can be supplied in 2 tonne cylinders. In addition, a solution of Ammonia Gas in demineralised water is offered at a typical strength of 33-34% w/w. Ammonia is produced by the reaction of Hydrogen and Nitrogen in a classical Haber Process. Ammonia has a wide range of industrial applications. Some typical uses are in pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, heat treatment, amination reactions, phosphates, fermentation, explosives, dyes and man-made fibres. Ammonia has a high latent heat of vaporisation and is an effective refrigerant fluid. Terra has the capability to store in excess of 40,000 tonnes of Anhydrous Ammonia.
